The
Beginning:
The International Medial and Educational Trust is a non-profit charitable organization,
conceived by Dr. Arshad Husain, M.D. a deeply devoted child psychiatrist and
social activist, registered in Karachi, Pakistan. The funds are drawn from donations
from various sources. IMET envision is to serve the medical and educational needs
of under privileged communities.
IMET’s
Philosophy
We believe that: Health is not merely an absence of disease, rather it is optimal
well-being and Primary health care should be available to all regardless of their
ability to pay. Each individual should be treated with dignity, respect and confidentiality
in any health care system. The cost of achieving and preserving health is a shared
responsibility of both public and private sector.

Our
Mission
We responsed to: Serve individuals of all ages by providing health care according
to the principals of primary and secondary prevention, including the management
of chronic illness
and old age.
Adult
Education
IMET has initiated an adult education program at the clinic’s
premises. IMET also plans to establish a training program for physician assistants
and nurse practitioners who will work at the out reach clinics in the under served
communities of Karachi city.
Continued
Medical Education
IMET runs Continued Medical Education programs routinely for physician
ad mental health professionals.
Shared Responsibilities
We at IMET feel that the cost of achieving and preserving health
care is a shared responsibility of both individuals and organizations;
we therefore encourage networking with other organization and individuals
for the common goal of improving health can education of the community.
