Lamberti Summer Research Scholarship
Lamberti Summer Research Scholarship is an annual scholarship intended
to promote student research in the area of Psychosocial
Trauma Studies. The
International Center for Psychosocial Trauma
(ICPT) helps children worldwide who have been victimized by violence and
war
and who often suffer from
psychological trauma. The Center’s mission
is to train teachers, mental health professionals
and
others
to help
children and their
families overcome the effects of trauma.
I) Eligibility-
lambertia) Applicants must be students
lambertib) Both graduate and undergraduates are welcome to apply.
lambertic) One student will receive the scholarship each summer.
II) Benefits
lambertia) The recipient of the scholarship will be awarded $1500 as a stipend.
lambertib) The stipend will be dispersed in three monthly payments over
the course of
lambertim
the summer.
III) Expectations
lambertia) The recipient will attend the ICPT weekly meetings.
lambertib) The recipient will conduct research over the course of the summer.
lambertic) General guidelines for time spent on meetings and research should be 15
lambertimdhours a week for 12 weeks.
lambertid) At the end of the research period, the recipient will present a final
lambertimdproject in one of the following formats;
lambertimdj1) Submission of a training module for the ICPT Summer
Institute
lambertimdj2) Establishment of an ongoing community outreach program.
lambertimdj3) Writing of a paper describing research and submission for
lambertimdmdjpublication.
II) Application process
lambertia) All applications are due on May 15, 2004.
lambertib) Applicants must submit a research proposal.

Research proposals can be in the form lambertim of
an
attachment
and should be in either Microsoft Word or WordPefect format.
lambertid) The recipient of the scholarship
will be notified by May 22, and work
lambertimdwill begin as soon as possible.
